Dinosaurs: Fossils Exposed

Dinosaurs: Fossils Exposed is a 2,000 sq. ft. exhibition that explores the bones and fossils belonging to the giant creatures that once roamed the earth.

Guests can view and even touch six full dinosaur skeletal molds, study thirteen dinosaur skulls, stand next to a 6’1″ Apatosaurus femur, and use paleontology tools to unearth ancient dinosaur bones.

Magnificent Me

In Magnificent Me! guests can interact with a variety of medical technologies and have the chance for hands-on exploration of different human systems. The exhibition examines the body’s muscles and bones, heart and lungs, digestive system, and brain and nerves.

Some highlights include:

  • What Does a Baby Look Like in the Womb? Visitors use the sensor wand to “see” an ultrasound of the inside of the womb.
  • Can My Hand Fool My Brain? Using special coils, visitors try to tell the difference between hot and cold temperatures.
  • How Does My Brain “See” a Word? Visitors use a slider to rotate a brain and explore how humans process information.
  • Why Do My Bones Break? A lever allows visitors to flex a bone.
  • Can My Eyes Fool My Brain? Visitors try to trace a pattern by looking only at a reflection.
  • Intestine Pull! Visitors pull a rope to see the length of their intestines.
  • Gas Seat Visitors have a seat, then bounce up and down to build up gas pressure and see what happens.

Mystery of the Mayan Medallion

In this immersive exhibition, guests are transported to Palenque, Mexico, where an archaeological team has mysteriously disappeared from a dig site while investigating rumors of a priceless jade medallion.  They will follow the clues the team left behind to locate the precious medallion while avoiding the dangers lurking in the ruins.

In the exhibit, visitors will:

  • Translate glyphs
  • Discover which rainforest animals are poisonous
  • Learn how the Mayans recorded dates
  • Take rubbings from a sarcophagus
  • Interpret a “battle” mural

Exhibit components include archeology, biology and astro-mathematic field stations, an observatory and a tomb area that yield clues to the medallion’s whereabouts.

Science & Art

Science & Art is organized into four “mini” exhibits featuring projects created by artists who have specific masteries in scientific areas. The exhibits are designed to show that art and science aren’t the same thing but have much in common. Guests will also experience how art can be used to convey scientific ideas and phenomena and experience science from a fresh point of view.
