Tinkerfest(s) 2020

The Museum of Discovery is tinkering with Tinkerfest to keep guests safe by breaking its most popular annual event, now in its ninth year, into four separate Saturdays. Tinkerfest 2020 will be presented from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., each with a different theme/area of focus:

September 12: Splashing & Tinkering

September 26: Tools & Tech

October 10: Tinkering with Materials

October 24: Spooky Tinkering

Each Tinkerfest along the 100 block of Sherman Street just outside the museum’s main entrance. The adjustment will prevent overcrowding and allow more staff to be devoted to ongoing sanitization efforts during each event.

Four separate events will help prevent overcrowding and will allow more staff to be devoted to disinfecting each activity. To guarantee limited crowds, the museum is requiring guests and members to purchase or reserve tickets to events in two hour increments: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (your admission also allows all day access to the museum.) Additionally, all guests 10 and older are required to wear a mask during the event. There will also be hand sanitizer available at each activity.
