Parts of the museum closed for renovations

Construction is underway at Museum of Discovery to prepare for the installation of two new permanent galleries that will open in early November.

The 78 new exhibits/experiences that will fill Science Lab and Dynamic Earth will replace the exhibits that were destroyed in the February 2021 flood caused by burst pipes and resulting in $7.6 million in damages.

Construction on Science Lab has begun resulting in the closure of the two exhibitions that were on display, A-MAZE-D and Science & Art. However, construction on Dynamic Earth downstairs will not begin until October 9, which means guests can continue to enjoy the popular Keva exhibit and get up-close looks at the museum’s animal ambassadors.

Due to the closings of some of the museum’s exhibits and the ongoing construction related to the new galleries, all general admission tickets will be discounted $2 beginning August 21.
