Parts of museum closed for climber installation

Are you ready for the biggest thing (literally) to come to Museum of Discovery in its 95-year history? Circle Saturday, November 19, on your calendar for the debut of a two-story, three-tower climbing structure! This new feature will be installed in the only tall area of the museum, around the stairs, and is the first of many exciting additions coming to the museum!
Construction on the structure will begin next week! With this comes a couple of HUGE, yet temporary changes. From Tuesday, September 27, through Friday, November 18, the downstairs of the museum will be closed. Because of this, admission to the museum for all ages will be $5 until the debut of the climber and subsequent opening of the downstairs. We will move PPG STEAM Studio activities upstairs and will also bring animal ambassadors upstairs to meet our guests during the downstairs closure.
The opening of the climber will bring an additional change: for the first time in more than 10 years, the cost of museum memberships will increase. Starting November 19, a family membership for five people will be $100, and a contributing membership for seven people will be $150. However, with annual benefits that include free admission to Museum of Discovery and hundreds of museums across the country (including Mid-America in Hot Springs and the Scott Family Amazeum in Bentonville); discounts on Museum of Discovery summer camps, birthday parties as well as Explore Store purchases and more, memberships remain a great deal and an affordable gift!
Plus, museum members will be invited to a private climber preview party shortly before it opens to the public. You can renew your membership any time before it expires to take advantage of the cheaper rate. For example, if your membership has four months remaining and you renew today at the current rate, it will be extended to 16 months. Purchase or renew your membership at our admissions desk or online at https://museumofdiscovery.org/membership/.
We appreciate your continued support and patience as we continue to rebuild following our devastating 2021 flood. If you are interested in making a donation to support our continuing renovation efforts, visit https://museumofdiscovery.org/donate/.
