Museum of Discovery Holds Seventh Annual Tinkerfest

Little Rock, Ark. – The Museum of Discovery will present the seventh annual Tinkerfest, a one-day festival that brings together makers, artists, engineers and crafters from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 15.

Tinkerfest is a daylong celebration of curiosity and creativity that allows guests of all ages to tinker and learn how things work through activities such as LEGO robotics, PVC river runs, water rocket launching, taking cars apart, plastic fusion and more.  There will also be a variety of food trucks for visitors to enjoy.

“Tinkerfest embodies the Museum of Discovery’s mission – igniting and fueling a passion for science, technology, engineering, arts and math through dynamic, interactive experiences,” says Kelley Bass, museum CEO. “It is one of the biggest and best days of the year. It’s almost hard to describe how much our guests adore all that Tinkerfest has to offer.”

Tinkerfest activities are included in the museum’s regular daily admission: $10 for adults, $8 for children 1-12 and free for infants younger than 1. Seniors, teachers, Little Rock city employees and active and retired military are admitted for $8. Museum members are admitted free.

The event is sponsored by Discovery Network, Arkansas Children’s Research Institute, Dassault Falcon Jet, Rock Dental Brands, ClearPointe, Galley Support Innovations, Entergy, Garver, Mr. Plastic, Arkansas Virtual Academy, Southwest Power Pool, Baldwin & Shell, Welspun, Arkansas School for Math, Science and the Arts, ACE Glass, AGC Arkansas and Enbridge.
