Museum of Discovery Receives Grant from Bank of America to Serve Inner City Children

Little Rock, Ark (August 31, 2017)– The Museum of Discovery announced today that it has received a $10,000 grant from Bank of America that will provide access for children from the City of Little Rock’s Summer Playground program to the museum for free in 2018.

The grant will allow for 1,000 children ages 6-15 from low-income families to experience the science center’s 90 interactive exhibits as well enjoy an “Awesome Science” show.

“We appreciate Bank of America’s continued generosity and its focus on providing the stimulating Museum of Discovery experience to 1,000 children who otherwise might not have the chance to come here,” says museum CEO Kelley Bass.

“We believe in lifelong learning at the Summer Playground Program,” said Sedric Mayfield, assistant recreation programs coordinator for Little Rock Parks and Recreation.  “Through this grant, Bank of America and Museum of Discovery help us educate through fun and invest in our tomorrows.”

This is the sixth consecutive year Bank of America has provided the grant to the Museum of Discovery.
