The Museum of Discovery is home to the Guinness World Record musical bi-polar tesla coil. Named for its inventor, Nikola Tesla, the developer of the alternating current system of electricity used today, our Tesla coil creates 250,000 volts of electricity at a high frequency visible to the eye. By modulating the frequency of the plasma, or lightning, the coil produces, museum educators can play well-known songs on the device. Cost to see the show in the Tesla Theater is $2 for non-members, $1 for members. It is offered several times each day.
